DESCRIPTION:

Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo form part of the Sabana-Camagüey island group, just off the northern coast of Ciego de Avila Province. Because of its spectacular natural beauty, this region is known as Jardines del Rey.

The area is noted for the diversity of its seascapes, the transparence of its water, the excellent quality of its sand and the captivating enchantment of its coral reefs. You can see sand dunes up to 15 meters (49 feet) high, large rocky ledges and cliffs from three kilometers (almost two miles) away.

Beaked fish and many other species prized by fishermen abound in its waters. Attractive seafaring and excursions include tours to the beaches, lighthouses and nearby Cayo Media Luna is particularly enticing. From the Puertosol Marina, you can also sail the same sail the same route as Ernest Hemingway did; go in for water sports or take a ride in a motorboat.

The Jardines del Rey International Scuba Diving Center offers scuba diving courses at all levels and awards internationally recognized certificates. In addition, the marina has a tourist complex and offers a safe harbor for yachtsmen coming through the Viejo Canal de Las Bahamas (Old Bahamas Channel) and nearby areas.
